Abdulghafour: Al-Arabi Players Spoke Their Piece Against Al-Qadsia

Ahmed Abdulghafour, manager of Al-Arabi’s first football team, expressed his great joy at the 3-0 victory over Al-Qadsia in the seventh round of the Zain Premier League. Speaking after the match, Abdulghafour said, “Al-Akhdar secured three valuable points against Al-Asfar in the Kuwaiti football derby. Before the match, we were determined to win, and the Al-Arabi players delivered, managing to defeat Al-Qadsia at their home ground.” He added that derby matches between Al-Arabi and Al-Qadsia do not always follow conventional metrics; regardless of each team’s standing or form, the dynamics often change during the game. Abdulghafour emphasized that this important victory was a tribute to the Al-Arabi fans, who have consistently supported and stood by the team. He noted that Al-Arabi’s coach, Serbian manager Darko Nestorovic, opted for a cautious approach in the first half to assess Al-Qadsia’s strengths and weaknesses, then took control of the match in the second half to secure the win. In conclusion, Abdulghafour hoped that this victory over Al-Qadsia would serve as a new launchpad for Al-Arabi to continue competing strongly in the upcoming rounds. Meanwhile, Bandar Al-Salama, who scored the third goal, praised coach Darko as a spiritual father to the players and apologized for the team’s poor start to the season.
