The Director of the Meteorology Department, Nandib Dharar Al-Ali, forecast that the country will be affected today, Sunday, by scattered light rain showers, occasionally thunderstorm, with a chance of fog in the evening, conditions expected to persist until Monday morning.
Al-Ali told KUNA that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country will be influenced by an extension of a moist low-pressure system, coinciding with a low-pressure system in the upper atmospheric layers. This will lead to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds, accompanied by scattered light rain showers that may occasionally be thunderstorm.
He added that winds will be southeasterly to variable, light to moderate in speed, occasionally strengthening, with a chance of fog forming starting from this evening. This will reduce visibility to below 1,000 meters in some areas until Monday morning.
He clarified that visibility will gradually improve from the early hours of Monday morning, urging the public to follow the weather bulletin through the Department’s official website, its mobile application, and its social media accounts to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
