The VISIT KUWAIT platform continues to enhance Kuwait’s tourism experience by leveraging artificial intelligence and cloud computing technologies provided by Microsoft, supporting the “New Kuwait 2035” vision and strengthening the country’s position as a tourist, cultural, and sports destination.
The platform aims to facilitate tourists’ access to visas, discover cultural, artistic, and entertainment events along with their schedules and venues through an intelligent interactive map, exclusive offers, and trip planning capabilities in both Arabic and English.
Additionally, the platform provides a unified gateway for local and international companies seeking permits to organize tourism, cultural, artistic, and entertainment events, thereby streamlining procedures and enhancing event organization in the country.
Launched officially on November 1, 2025, the platform is part of efforts to develop the digital tourism communication system, unify promotional initiatives, and strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors, contributing to tourism revitalization and income diversification.
Going beyond the concept of a traditional tourism website, VISIT KUWAIT connects tourist landmarks, cultural events, sports championships, transportation, hospitality, and tourism services through a single smart portal, enabling visitors, residents, and citizens to access tourism services and information from one unified digital destination.
The General Authority for Youth and Sports developed the platform in collaboration with Microsoft and implementation partner Diyar United, utilizing artificial intelligence technologies and the Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure to enhance integration among government entities and private sector companies, improve tourism services, and elevate the user experience.
VISIT KUWAIT links more than 80 entities from both the public and private sectors, fostering cooperation among tourism and event stakeholders, opening new avenues for coordination, and facilitating the exchange of services and information within an integrated digital system that supports the development of the country’s tourism sector.
The platform relies on Microsoft Azure, Azure API Management, and Microsoft Fabric services, enabling secure integration among partners and providing government stakeholders with real-time insights into tourism trends, visitor engagement levels, and event performance.
AI-driven analytics contribute to strategic planning, optimize investment utilization, and improve service quality, while the central content management team streamlines operations within the General Authority for Youth and Sports.
The cloud-based technical infrastructure offers the flexibility, scalability, and security levels necessary to support future services and accommodate additional partners and major national events, keeping pace with the evolving digital needs of the tourism sector.
The platform features Rashid, a multilingual smart assistant developed using the Azure OpenAI Service and Azure AI technologies, to help users plan their trips and provide a comprehensive digital experience before, during, and after their visit.
Available in Arabic and English, Rashid offers customized itineraries, visa guidance, tourist destination recommendations, and real-time assistance, making it easier for visitors to explore landmarks and discover available activities and events.
The platform’s services are not limited to international travelers; they also cater to residents and citizens by enabling them to discover local landmarks, cultural experiences, and national events through a single trusted digital destination.
In this regard, Dr. Fatima Sayed Hashem, Deputy Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday that the (VISIT KUWAIT) platform represents a significant step in how Kuwait presents itself to the world by integrating tourism, culture, sports, events, and essential services into a single smart platform.
Hashem added that the platform contributes to providing a smoother and more interactive experience for visitors, residents, and citizens alike, emphasizing that the partnership with Microsoft has enabled the utilization of artificial intelligence and reliable cloud computing technologies to build a secure and scalable platform.
She clarified that this partnership enhances cooperation between the public and private sectors in Kuwait and supports the ambitions of the “New Kuwait 2035” vision by developing digital services and providing an integrated environment that connects stakeholders in the tourism and events sectors.
For her part, Eng. Nof Al-Nasser, Head of the Networks and Technical Support Department at the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, told KUNA that the collaboration with Microsoft aims to build capabilities that extend beyond launching the (VISIT KUWAIT) platform to include developing an integrated system capable of continuing innovation and responding to evolving visitor expectations, thereby opening new horizons in the tourism and events sector.
Al-Nasser added that combining national ambitions with Microsoft’s technical expertise in cloud computing and artificial intelligence provides a strong foundation for continuing the development of digital services and enhancing integration among entities operating in the tourism sector.
She affirmed that this collaboration helps transform technology into long-term national value and supports Kuwait’s ambition to strengthen its position as a connected, future-ready destination.
For his part, Alaa Al-Din Karim, Managing Director of Microsoft Kuwait, told KUNA that the (VISIT KUWAIT) platform demonstrates how artificial intelligence can transform the way governments interact with citizens.
Karim added that the company is proud of its partnership with Kuwait to build secure and smart digital experiences that contribute to advancing the goals of the “New Kuwait 2035” vision and creating sustainable value for citizens, residents, visitors, and the business sector.
