State Minister for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, affirmed that Kuwait’s success in hosting and organizing the “Premier Padel Kuwait Major 2026,” featuring a select group of the world’s top-ranked male and female players, reflects the country’s outstanding organizational capabilities and strengthens its standing as a destination for hosting major international sporting events.
In a statement marking the conclusion of the tournament, Al-Jalahma said this success is the result of the political leadership’s support and attention to the sports sector, as well as its commitment to developing sports infrastructure and creating an appropriate environment to attract major international championships.
He added that the tournament’s success, held as part of the “Kuwait Youth and Sports Season” events, embodies the importance of effective partnership between the public and private sectors in organizing global sporting events, thereby contributing to stimulating sports tourism, supporting the national economy, and enhancing Kuwait’s international presence.
He clarified that the tournament’s elevation to the “Major” category, which is the highest tier of global padel tournaments, reflects international confidence in Kuwait’s organizational capabilities and underscores the importance of continuing efforts to attract more major sporting events, in line with the state’s aspirations and developmental vision.
Al-Jalahma praised the efforts of the organizing committee, chaired by Bader Al-Kharafi, as well as all participating government and private entities in organizing this event. He commended the role of BNK Group in supporting the tournament, ensuring its success, and presenting Kuwait in an honorable light to participants and spectators.
He emphasized the continued support for distinctive sports initiatives and tournaments that contribute to spreading sports culture and encouraging Kuwaiti youth to engage in various sports, while leveraging the hosting of global stars to develop the level of Kuwaiti sports and enhance its presence on both regional and international stages.
It is worth noting that the tournament kicked off on October 26 at the Arena Mall 360 venue and the Rafa Nadal Academy, featuring 240 male and female players from the world’s elite. The event was held under the patronage of BNK Group and as part of the “Kuwait Youth and Sports Season” project.
