Hanin Al-Eidan, Deputy Director of the Fatwa and Legislation Department and Legal Advisor, won the Excellence Award for Technical Members of Legislation Departments in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries for 2026, representing the State of Kuwait. The award was presented on the sidelines of the 31st meeting of the Standing Committee of Officials of Legislation Departments in GCC countries, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Qutaiba Al-Dibous, a lawyer from the State of Kuwait and a member of the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the meeting, told KUNA that this honor is the first awarded by the GCC Secretariat-General to technical members of legislation departments in GCC countries, in recognition of their efforts and contributions to legislative work.
Al-Dibous added that the award recognizes the legal and legislative expertise of Gulf professionals, highlights the efforts of those working in this field, and encourages them to continue their dedication, excellence, and advancement of legislative work, thereby enhancing the exchange of expertise and experiences among legislation departments in GCC countries.
The award was presented on the sidelines of the meeting held last Thursday in Manama, as part of Bahrain’s chairmanship of the Standing Committee for the current year.
The Kuwaiti Fatwa and Legislation Department participated in the meeting in a delegation led by Jawhar Al-Maqroon, Head of the Legislation Sector and Deputy Director, which included several members of the Legislation Sector.
The meeting addressed several agenda items of the Standing Committee, focusing on strengthening cooperation and joint coordination, and exchanging expertise among legislation departments in GCC countries, with the aim of developing legislative work and elevating the Gulf legislative framework.
