The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy is currently exploring ways to overcome the obstacles hindering the decommissioning of the South Shuaiba and East Doha power generation and desalination plants, due to the expiration of their design life and their age, with a view to rebuilding them with greater production capacities. This step comes as part of coordination between the ministry’s various sectors and the relevant concerned authorities, to enhance the ministry’s production capacity for electricity and water by implementing projects included in its strategic plans, whether those being tendered through the Public Authority for Partnership Projects or those the ministry intends to execute.

In a separate development, the Court of Audit approved the extension of the tender contract for security and guard services at main substations and overhead lines in the electricity transmission network sector of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, valued at 228,100 dinars.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy is launching today its media and awareness campaign for the “Adaa” project, implemented by the ministry in cooperation with the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (“Nazaha”), with the aim of activating the implementation of the code of conduct for government entity employees and consolidating the principles of integrity and transparency in the work environment.

The campaign, which will run until the end of March next year, targets ministry employees, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to enhancing awareness of professional values and behavioral guidelines, thereby contributing to improving institutional performance, developing the work environment, and elevating the level of services provided.

In a statement, the ministry called on all its employees to follow the campaign and review its awareness content by tracking the ministry’s dedicated Instagram account @MEWSTAFF.

The campaign will be followed by a comprehensive awareness plan encompassing media, digital, and field channels, alongside training programs and workshops, implemented in collaboration and coordination with relevant authorities, covering all ministry sectors and its affiliated sites. These efforts aim to instill a culture of compliance with the code of conduct for government employees among all staff and to strengthen the application of its principles in daily practices.
