Barcelona Aims to Bounce Back Against Alavés

Barcelona will host their rivals Deportivo Alavés tomorrow Saturday at the Spotify Camp Nou as part of the 11th round of the Spanish La Liga. The Catalan side enters the clash atop the league table with 27 points, two points clear of their closest pursuers, Atletico Madrid. Under manager Hansi Flick, the Blaugrana aim to restore their winning momentum and heal the wounds of their recent 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico, which ended a nine-match winning streak in La Liga. On the other hand, Alavés arrive as visitors, sitting seventh in the standings with 12 points, and the Basque side head into the match with high morale after snatching a dramatic late draw against Malaga (1-1). Also taking place tomorrow are Levante versus Atletico Madrid, Rayo Vallecano versus Celta Vigo, and Real Betis versus Malaga. The round opens today with a match between Villarreal and their guests Espanyol.
