Chief of Staff Officers of GCC Countries Discuss Defense Cooperation and Joint Coordination Amid Current Circumstances

Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Sharhan, headed the Kuwait delegation participating in the 23rd session of the Supreme Military Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in the sister Kingdom of Bahrain.

The General Staff of the Army stated in a press release that the meeting discussed topics related to enhancing the trajectory of joint cooperation among GCC member states, as well as the latest security developments and updates in the region. It added that the meeting examined areas of defense cooperation and joint coordination in light of current circumstances.

For his part, Bahraini Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Diab Al-Nuaimi said that the seriousness of the current phase, marked by extraordinary attacks, necessitates full solidarity, close coordination, and joint cooperation to contain all risks threatening the security and stability of the GCC countries.

Al-Nuaimi noted in his speech that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, consistently emphasizes the necessity of strengthening joint defense systems, defense integration, and supporting the pillars of joint military construction among brotherly GCC states.
