US President Donald Trump said that Iran will soon be added to the list of US victories, as was the case with Venezuela.
Trump added in remarks during his participation in a Republican rally in Ohio that: “Iran has suffered a very severe defeat, and I will end the war with it soon.”
He continued: “Tehran is facing difficulties in manufacturing drones due to power outages.”
Meanwhile, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces had cleared all internationally recognized transit routes through the Strait of Hormuz of naval mines, affirming that these routes remain mine-free.
CENTCOM said in a brief statement on its official X (formerly Twitter) account: “Thousands of commercial ships have safely used these transit routes, and they continue to do so to this day.”
It clarified that this comes in response to Iranian claims that commercial vessels are hitting naval mines while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that “these claims are false.”
