The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Hamad Al-Mushaan, summoned Iran’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Mohammad Toutounji, and handed him a note of protest regarding a statement issued by Iran’s embassy in Kuwait. The statement was condemned for its blatant interference in Kuwait’s internal affairs, its infringement on Kuwait’s sovereignty, and its undermining of the independence of its judicial authority, in clear violation of international laws and norms.
In a statement issued by the ministry, the Deputy Minister reiterated Kuwait’s strong rejection and condemnation of any interference in judicial rulings issued by its national courts, emphasizing the necessity for the Iranian side to comply with international law, the United Nations Charter—particularly the principles of good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of states—as well as the provisions of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
