The Pakistani military announced yesterday that nine militants were killed during two security operations carried out by its forces in Balochistan province in the southwest of the country.
In a statement, the military’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department said the operations targeted militant hideouts in the Kech and Wadh areas of the province. It explained that seven militants were killed during a raid on one of their hideouts in Kech following intense gunfire exchanges, while two others were killed in a separate operation in Wadh. Arms and ammunition were also seized.
The statement added that troops are continuing clearance operations to eliminate any remaining militants in the two areas, reaffirming the continuation of security operations to eradicate terrorism.
Last week, the Pakistani military announced the killing of 10 militants, including a woman, during a security operation in Gwadar, Balochistan. The country has been witnessing a surge in armed attacks, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, which border Afghanistan.
