Under the patronage and in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development participated in the “United Nations Day 2026” celebrations, attended by Acting Director General of the Kuwait Fund, Rashid Al-Badr.

This year’s celebration, organized by the United Nations Mission in Kuwait to mark the 81st anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Charter, was held at the UN House under the theme “The Power of Diplomacy.” It brought together numerous officials, diplomatic mission representatives, and international organizations, aiming to highlight the importance of dialogue and international cooperation in strengthening peace and security and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Fund participated in the accompanying exhibition, showcasing through a series of photographs some of its development projects in beneficiary countries and their role in improving basic services and supporting economic and social development. Among the most prominent projects supported by the Fund in partnership with UN agencies are the rehabilitation of public schools in Lebanon in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the rehabilitation of housing for returning displaced persons in Yemen, coordinated with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), alongside projects supporting food security, improving water services, and enhancing livelihoods in Sudan in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Cooperation between the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and the UN system extends within Kuwait itself, through the “Joint Program for Labor Market Integration,” which represents the first project implemented by the Fund within the State of Kuwait, reflecting the diversity of partnership areas between the two sides.
