The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the Juvenile Protection Department, referred a juvenile to the Juvenile Prosecution after apprehending him in the Al-Firdaws area on charges of possessing and distributing the narcotic “Chemical” liquid and using it to fill electronic cigarettes, in an incident that reveals one of the methods used to traffic narcotics, which the Ministry of Interior is working to counter.

The Ministry of Interior stated that the juvenile’s apprehension followed intelligence regarding the suspect’s possession of narcotics and psychoactive substances with intent to traffic and consume. Necessary investigations were conducted, his location was identified, and a legal authorization was obtained from the Public Prosecution to apprehend and search him.

The ministry added that the juvenile was apprehended in the Al-Firdaws area, where 40 empty electronic cigarettes and a 120-milliliter bottle containing the narcotic “Chemical” liquid were found in his possession. During interrogation, he disclosed several locations in the Farwaniya area where he had hidden 24 electronic cigarettes filled with the same narcotic liquid, which were subsequently located and seized.

Continuing, the ministry said: “Confronted with the seized items, he admitted to possessing them for personal use and trafficking to achieve financial gains, and further stated that he obtained them through an intermediary who supplied them to him.”

Meanwhile, a security source said the incident is subject to the provisions of legislation governing the fight against narcotics and psychoactive substances, while taking into account the special provisions applicable to juvenile defendants, in accordance with the suspect’s age and the legal classification of the charges against him.

The Ministry of Interior, in conclusion of its statement, emphasized its continued efforts to protect juveniles from the dangers of narcotics and psychoactive substances and to counter trafficking methods, urging parents to monitor their children, strengthen ongoing communication and dialogue with them, and raise awareness about the risks of smoking and drug use and the methods used to traffic them, thereby contributing to protecting them from falling victim to addiction and exploitation.
