The Kuwaiti-Emirati consular committee held its fourth session, hosted by Kuwait yesterday, to explore ways to enhance consular cooperation and develop joint coordination mechanisms aimed at facilitating procedures and services provided to the citizens of the two brotherly countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by its Consular Affairs Department, hosted the committee’s sessions, with participation from five specialized government entities from both sides. The meetings addressed several topics related to the mandates of relevant ministries and institutions in both countries, particularly the ministries of Interior, Health, Justice, and Higher Education.
In a statement to KUNA, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs, Ambassador Aziz Al-Daihani, said that the fourth session’s meetings were characterized by a positive atmosphere, reflecting the strength and depth of the fraternal relations between Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
Al-Daihani added that Kuwaiti-Emirati relations enjoy high-level patronage from the leaderships of both countries, rooted in enduring historical ties and a shared destiny within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
He emphasized that the significance of convening the consular committee lies in providing a direct framework for coordination between the competent authorities in both countries to examine consular issues, discuss matters of mutual interest, and develop shared visions that would enhance the level of services provided to citizens and develop working and cooperation mechanisms between the two sides.
The Kuwaiti delegation to the committee’s meetings was led by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs, Ambassador Aziz Al-Daihani, while the UAE delegation was chaired by Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikha Hessa bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan.
