Foreign Minister Reiterates Kuwait's Absolute Solidarity with Saudi Arabia: We Support All Kingdom's Measures to Safeguard Sovereignty and Protect Security

Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber met with the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, during his official visit to the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber reiterated during the meeting Kuwait’s strong condemnation and rejection of the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against several areas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as their attempts to target Mecca and Medina.

He emphasized that these heinous attacks constitute a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law, a clear infringement on the sanctity and religious status of Islamic holy sites, and a provocation of Muslims’ feelings around the world.

He stressed that the continuation and recurrence of these systematic hostile acts, which involve targeting civilian objects and vital facilities, represent a serious escalation and a direct threat to the security of the Kingdom and regional stability, in addition to posing serious risks to the safety of civilians and the security of air navigation. This necessitates a firm international stance ensuring that those responsible for these attacks are held accountable.

He reaffirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with and support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its backing of all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, protect its security, and ensure its stability, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

The two sides also reviewed during the meeting the deep-rooted historical ties and the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and their peoples, and affirmed their shared commitment to continuing to enhance bilateral cooperation and coordination frameworks across various fields and at all levels, in line with the directives of the wise leaderships of both countries and to meet their aspirations for greater integration and joint cooperation.

The meeting also addressed the latest regional developments and their repercussions on regional security and stability, where both sides emphasized the importance of continuing Kuwaiti-Saudi consultations and coordination across various levels and intensifying joint efforts to confront current challenges amid the delicate circumstances the region is undergoing, based on shared destiny and common interests, and the two fraternal countries’ commitment to consolidating the foundations of regional security and stability.
