The official spokesperson for the “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen” forces, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, announced that the Saudi air defense intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles fired by the Houthi terrorist militia toward Riyadh.
Subsequently, the official spokesperson for the Saudi Civil Defense stated that the Civil Defense responded to the fall of ballistic missile fragments in Riyadh after the missiles were intercepted and destroyed. The fragments were launched by the Houthi terrorist militia.
He added in a statement that the incident caused material damage to a building, a construction project, and a vehicle, while confirming that standard procedures for such cases were implemented.
This came after the Saudi Civil Defense announced that the threat had passed over the cities of Riyadh, Al-Kharj, and Al-Harim. An alert had been issued by the National Early Warning Platform for Emergency Situations in Al-Harim Governorate to warn of the danger, following similar alerts issued minutes earlier in Al-Kharj Governorate and Riyadh City. The spokesperson reiterated the reminder of the procedures to be followed in such situations.
In Yemen, Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, affirmed that the city of Taiz is facing a suffocating blockade imposed by Houthi militias, noting that approximately 1.5 million people are trapped inside the city. He stressed that the Yemeni government will restore security and stability to the country.
In statements to Al Arabiya News channel, Al-Alimi called on the international community and the United Nations to take action to open crossings to allow humanitarian aid to enter Taiz, urging the international community to fulfill its role in ending the blockade imposed on the city.
He noted that more than 5 million Yemenis have been displaced from areas controlled by Houthi militias since the beginning of the war, adding that many Yemenis have moved to areas under the control of the legitimate government.
