The activities of the “Kafou 2026” Forum, themed “From Resilience to Development: Kuwaiti Youth Shaping the Future,” have commenced as part of the Kuwait Youth and Sports Season. In a speech, Capital Governor Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem emphasized that this national forum embodies Kuwait’s journey marked by resilience in the face of challenges, its transition toward construction and development, and its forward-looking vision for the future. He stressed the importance of continuing this path through the determination and contributions of Kuwaiti youth across various fields.
Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem noted that the political leadership, headed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, places great emphasis on Kuwaiti youth, reflecting a firm belief that they are the nation’s true wealth and the fundamental pillar for building its future and achieving its developmental aspirations. He added that while previous generations wrote the most beautiful chapters of resilience and sacrifice in defense of Kuwait and the preservation of its security and stability, today’s youth bear the responsibility of continuing this national journey by arming themselves with knowledge, learning, and creativity, and transforming aspirations into achievements that contribute to the nation’s elevation and progress.
The Governor praised the national role played by the “Kafou” platform in highlighting national talents, nurturing youth potential, supporting their skills, and providing opportunities for their active participation in societal development. He underscored the importance of coordinated efforts among various entities to empower youth and enhance their role in the nation’s construction and development.
For her part, Fatima Al-Mousawi, CEO of the “Kafou” platform, delivered a similar speech, stating that the platform was launched with the aim of empowering youth and providing them with opportunities to showcase their potential and creative talents, based on a conviction in their ability to excel and make meaningful contributions to societal development. She explained that “Kafou” is committed to continuously discovering youth talents, nurturing and supporting creative initiatives, and providing a suitable environment that enables young people to turn their ideas and aspirations into tangible achievements.
She added that the platform’s progress and success were the result of the support and patronage it received from the Diwan Amiri since its inception, which helped transform the concept into an effective platform for supporting young national talents and highlighting their creativity across various fields.
Al-Mousawi expressed her pleasure at the presence of officials and success partners from both the public and private sectors, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation and partnership among various entities to support youth initiatives and expand the range of opportunities available to Kuwaiti youth.
For his part, Dr. Bader Al-Saif, a history professor at Kuwait University, delivered the forum’s keynote address, stating that the “Kafou” platform was launched from a national idea aimed at providing Kuwaiti youth with a broader space to express their aspirations and ambitions and to participate actively in shaping their country’s future. He recalled the platform’s early beginnings when he and a group of colleagues worked on developing an idea aimed at empowering youth, amplifying their voices, and giving them the opportunity to contribute to the nation’s construction and development. He added that the concept of “Kafou” originated from a fundamental question about how to listen to Kuwaiti youth and give them a genuine role in shaping their country’s future, affirming that belief in the capabilities and potential of youth was the primary motivation behind launching this initiative.
