Kuwait officials: Kazma suffered their second defeat in the Gulf Club Champions League, falling 1-2 to the UAE’s Ajman in yesterday’s match at the Friendship Stadium, as part of the second round of Group 3. With this result, the “Orange” side remains without any points and sits in last place, while Ajman moves to the top of the table.
Ajman did not give Kazma’s players any chance to catch their breath, scoring an early goal after just four minutes through Lorenzo Rodriguez, who beat goalkeeper Hussein Kanouni in a one-on-one situation. Ajman nearly added a second when Ismail Momen’s powerful shot hit the crossbar (12th minute).
Kazma then tried to equalize, but their attacks lacked seriousness due to a numerical disadvantage in the opponent’s penalty area. On the contrary, Walid Azaro doubled Ajman’s lead with a header from a corner kick (37th minute).
In the second half, Shabib Al-Khalidi missed a chance to reduce the deficit when he faced Ajman goalkeeper Ali Al-Hosani but shot directly into his hands (53rd minute). However, German substitute Torlies Knohl managed to score the first goal for the “Orange” side in a fine manner (57th minute). Kazma then became more active but failed to find an equalizer.
The match was refereed by Bahraini official Ismail Habib, who performed well.
