In line with its firm commitment to its social responsibility and its leading role in supporting health and community initiatives, National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) launched a series of awareness initiatives and events during October, coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The aim was to raise awareness of the importance of prevention and early detection, and to promote healthy lifestyles that help reduce the risk of the disease.
The campaign included a range of initiatives and events targeting bank employees and members of the community, underscoring the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting efforts to disseminate health knowledge and strengthen a culture of prevention.
As it does annually to support this global occasion, NBK illuminated its main building in pink throughout October, sending a message of solidarity with breast cancer survivors and patients and calling for the importance of early detection to be firmly established, as it is one of the most effective means of enhancing treatment success and recovery rates.
Regarding internal activities, the bank distributed pink pins on the 18th floor of the main building to encourage participation in the campaign and reinforce awareness messages among employees, thereby fostering a culture of health and prevention within the workplace.
To encourage female employees to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle, the bank offered complimentary Pilates sessions in collaboration with Inspire Sports Club, reflecting its belief in the importance of physical activity and its role in enhancing physical and mental health and preventing various diseases.
NBK’s awareness efforts extended to the community through its partnership with 360 Food Hall throughout October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The campaign featured a strong visual presence, with NBK’s logo and awareness messages prominently displayed throughout the restaurant for the entire month, helping to broaden reach and enhance public awareness of the disease.
This collaboration also included two open-to-the-public events on October 11 and 12, featuring Pilates classes and flower arrangement workshops. Held in an interactive atmosphere, these events aimed to raise health awareness and encourage participants to adopt healthy lifestyle practices, while highlighting the importance of early breast cancer detection.
On this occasion, Dana Fares, Senior Manager – Public Relations and Events at National Bank of Kuwait, said: “These initiatives embody our ongoing commitment to supporting efforts to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and early detection of breast cancer. Guided by our belief that knowledge and awareness constitute the first line of defense against the disease, we seek through this campaign to encourage members of the community to adopt healthy lifestyles and undergo regular screenings, thereby enhancing the chances of early detection and improving treatment outcomes, while reinforcing a culture of health and well-being in society.”
She added: “At National Bank of Kuwait, we strive to ensure that our community initiatives go beyond disseminating awareness messages by providing interactive platforms and activities that encourage community members to participate, engage, and adopt positive health practices. The partnerships we forge with health and sports institutions and various supporting entities reflect our conviction in the importance of collaborative efforts to enhance health awareness and strengthen a culture of health care across all segments of society.”
