In a move to bolster its efforts to support the esports sector and develop young talent, Boubyan Bank announced a strategic partnership with the Kuwait Esports Club, aiming to enhance cooperation in developing this promising sector and providing a competitive, professional environment that enables Kuwaiti youth to hone their skills and expand their opportunities to participate in local and international tournaments.

Coinciding with the partnership announcement, Boubyan Bank launched the second edition of the Boubyan E-League. This year’s edition features a broader scope of competitions, larger cash prizes, and official endorsement by the Kuwait Olympic Committee, enabling winners to qualify for finals to represent the Kuwaiti national team in international tournaments and events.

The partnership was signed in the presence of Qutaiba Al-Bassam, Assistant General Manager of Communications and Corporate Relations at Boubyan Bank, and Abdullah Al-Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Esports Club, along with several bank executives and club representatives.

Commenting on the partnership and the tournament launch, Al-Bassam stated that esports has become one of the promising sports sectors attracting global youth interest, opening new opportunities for them to develop their skills and showcase their abilities. He emphasized that Boubyan Bank views this field as a vital space for supporting and encouraging national talent to excel. He noted that launching the second edition of the Boubyan E-League marks an important step in the league’s development, pointing out that expanding the range of games and increasing prize values reflect the bank’s commitment to elevating the level of competition and attracting a wider audience of players.

Al-Bassam clarified that the second edition of the Boubyan E-League sees a significant expansion in the scope of competitions, increasing the number of esports titles from four to seven, thereby providing broader participation opportunities and attracting more talent. Additionally, cash prizes totaling 11,000 Kuwaiti dinars have been allocated.

For his part, Al-Ali affirmed that the strategic partnership with Boubyan Bank reflects the importance of integrating efforts between the private sector and sports institutions in developing Kuwait’s esports ecosystem. He noted that this collaboration contributes to providing a more professional competitive environment that supports the discovery and development of national talent, amid the rapid growth the sector is experiencing regionally and globally.

He added, “We are proud of our partnership with Boubyan Bank and its ongoing role in supporting Kuwaiti youth. Through the second edition of the Boubyan E-League, we look forward to elevating the level of competition and expanding participation opportunities for players, thereby helping to refine their skills and enhance their readiness to compete at both regional and international levels.”
