The Ministry of Education announced the opening of applications for funded study missions and unpaid study leaves for employees who meet the eligibility criteria, covering five plans and 11 specializations for the 2026/2027 academic year, in accordance with approved specializations and plans, both within and outside Kuwait.
The Ministry clarified that the Undersecretary of the Ministry issued a general circular regarding applications for study missions or leaves for Ministry employees for the 2026/2027 fiscal year, urging all employees wishing to complete a bachelor’s degree and who meet the conditions for study missions and leaves to submit their applications electronically via the “Ta” platform on the Ministry’s official website, www.moe.edu.kw, within two weeks from the date of the circular’s issuance, with a maximum deadline of Saturday, November 7, 2026.
The Ministry indicated that applicants can modify their application drafts and may cancel and resubmit their applications during the registration period. However, the ability to modify or cancel applications will cease two days before the end of the registration period, requiring applicants to review their data and ensure their applications are complete before the specified deadline.
The Ministry emphasized that the approved dispatch plans enable its employees to complete their bachelor’s degrees through various pathways, including funded study missions and unpaid study leaves, whether within or outside Kuwait, in accordance with general conditions and the provisions of the Study Missions and Leaves Regulations, alongside the specific conditions for each plan, available specializations, and the regulations set by the educational institutions.
Regarding the dispatch plan for persons with disabilities, the Ministry clarified that it allows applications for study missions to complete a bachelor’s degree for the 2026/2027 academic year, exempting applicants with disabilities from the service and specialization requirements, while adhering to the provisions of the Study Missions and Leaves Regulations and requiring the submission of a recent certificate issued by the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities as part of the application requirements for this plan.
It added that the study leave plan for obtaining a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kuwait requires, in addition to the general conditions and regulatory provisions, that the applicant holds a secondary school certificate or its equivalent, issued no more than two years prior. It noted that applications will be canceled if the desired specialization is unavailable or if the applicant fails to meet the university’s admission and registration conditions.
The Ministry specified the available specializations under the University of Kuwait study leave plan as Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Biology, English Language, Arabic Language, Philosophy, and Artificial Intelligence. It also clarified that the study leave plan for obtaining a bachelor’s degree from the Basic Education College affiliated with the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training includes specializations in Mathematics, English Language, Arabic Language, and Music Education.
The Ministry stated that applying for the study leave plan at the Basic Education College requires a secondary school certificate or its equivalent, with a minimum percentage of 70% for recent certificates and 80% for older certificates for males, while females must achieve a minimum of 75% for recent certificates and 80% for older certificates. It confirmed that the minimum admission thresholds and higher percentages are linked to the seats approved by the college and any new directives issued by the Dean of Admissions and Registration at the Authority, noting that applications will be canceled if the specialization is unavailable or if the applicant fails to meet admission and registration conditions.
Regarding funded scholarship programs for undergraduate studies abroad or at private universities within Kuwait, the Ministry clarified that the available majors include mathematics, physics, geology, biology, English, Arabic, philosophy, music education, accounting, artificial intelligence, and computer information systems. It further explained that the plan is subject to general conditions and the provisions of the Scholarships and Study Leave Regulations, as well as the requirements of the study institution. Applications will be canceled if the desired major is unavailable or if the admission and registration requirements are not met.
The Ministry also announced the availability of an unfunded study leave plan for completing undergraduate degrees abroad or at private universities within Kuwait, covering the same majors: mathematics, physics, geology, biology, English, Arabic, philosophy, music education, accounting, artificial intelligence, and computer information systems. This plan is subject to the general conditions and regulatory provisions, fulfillment of admission and registration requirements at the study institution, and cancellation of the application if the major is unavailable or if the required conditions are not met.
The Ministry of Education concluded by emphasizing its commitment to facilitating the application process and providing necessary support to employees wishing to continue their studies. It noted that individuals seeking inquiries or encountering technical issues during registration may visit the General Administration for Development and Development in person during the registration period, located in Jabriya, Block 2, Street 105, opposite Fahad Al-Duwairi Secondary School.
