Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East (BK) participated in the welcome week events for students at both the American University in Kuwait (AUK) and the Australian University in Kuwait (AU), coinciding with the start of the new academic year.
This participation reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting Kuwaiti youth and the education sector, as well as strengthening its engagement with university students. The welcome weeks at both universities witnessed significant student interaction, with Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East representatives keen to welcome students and engage them in various activities. These included serving free coffee from Caribou Coffee and checking on their well-being in collaboration with Kuwait Hospital, through conducting health screenings and providing health guidance. These activities aimed to create a distinctive welcoming atmosphere for students and encourage them to start the new academic year with a positive spirit, good health, and wellness.
During the events, Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East representatives directly interacted with students to introduce them to innovative banking and digital solutions tailored to their needs. Foremost among these is the Youth account, specifically designed to align with their lifestyle. It offers a flexible and easy banking experience that helps them manage their daily expenses, enhances their financial awareness at an early stage, supports their financial independence, and keeps pace with their future aspirations.
On this occasion, Hessa Hussein Al-Najjada, Senior Manager – Media Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East, stated: “Our participation in the welcome week events reflects our dedication to being close to students and interacting with them directly at the beginning of the academic year. We also take pride in our long-standing partnerships with the American University in Kuwait and the Australian University in Kuwait, which underscore Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East’s continuous interest in the education sector and its efforts to strengthen its relationship with young people.
“At the same time, the collaboration between Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East, the American University in Kuwait, and Kuwait Hospital exemplifies genuine integration among institutions under the umbrella of Kuwait Projects Company Holding (KIPCO), leveraging their expertise and capabilities across various fields to serve students and society.”
Al-Najjada added: “We believe that engaging with youth and listening to their aspirations is an integral part of our approach to designing initiatives and products that align with their expectations. Through the Youth account and our ongoing support for the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ campaign, we strive to provide our young customers with banking solutions that meet their needs, while simultaneously enhancing their financial awareness from an early age.
“This initiative is part of the bank’s comprehensive corporate social responsibility program and its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, aligning with the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035 to invest in the youth generation and support sustainable development.”
As part of its back-to-school activities, Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East organized a family event at SKY ZONE in The Avenues Mall, bringing families together before the start of the new academic year in a fun environment featuring interactive activities, competitions, and cash prizes.
The bank also launched the “BK Rewards” campaign for the back-to-school season, which allowed eligible customers to earn five times the reward points when using their eligible credit cards to purchase school supplies, clothing, and electronics at participating stores.
Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East will continue its support for youth and the education sector through its partnerships with academic institutions and its diverse programs in education, skills development, and financial awareness. This reflects its role as an active partner in supporting younger generations and contributing to the development of their capabilities, under its slogan “You Are Our Drive.”
