Kuwaiti officials arrested a customs inspector at Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 5 who was found in possession of 192 pills of “Larica” and “Tramadol,” substances listed in the schedule of psychotropic drugs, which he had concealed inside two dietary supplement bottles placed in a nearly empty carry-on bag.

A search of the traveler’s bag yielded 93 Larica pills and 99 Tramadol pills, totaling 192 pills. A report was drawn up and the case, along with the seized items, was referred to the General Directorate for the Combating of Narcotics and Alcohol to take the necessary legal action.

Footage of the seizure showed that the bag contained only limited items, including two dietary supplement bottles, one hiding Larica pills and the other Tramadol pills.

A customs source told “Al-Anbaa” that customs inspectors are trained to monitor travelers’ behavior and observe indicators that may warrant further scrutiny and inspection of luggage. He noted that signs of nervousness in various forms are among the behaviors inspectors pay close attention to, and that they undergo training courses on detecting and handling such signs.
