The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation, represented by the Ahmadi Criminal Investigation Department, referred a Turkish national to the Public Prosecution on suspicion of importing and trafficking prohibited pharmaceuticals into the country. The suspect was apprehended following a security ambush, and 105 abortion pills were seized from his possession and from a residence he rented on a daily basis in Fintas.

According to a video clip attached to the Ministry of Interior’s statement, intelligence reached Ahmadi investigators about the suspect’s involvement in trafficking banned drugs. Verification was conducted, and coordination was established with the Public Prosecution, which authorized the suspect’s arrest, the search of his residence, and the implementation of necessary legal procedures.

In executing the prosecution’s authorization, an investigator contacted the suspect, posing as a buyer and claiming an urgent need for the pills. The suspect agreed to sell them and set a meeting time on a street in the Abu Fatira area. The attached video documented the investigators’ recording of the handover of the pills and the receipt of the payment, followed by surveillance of the suspect until he reached his residence, where investigators were waiting upon his arrival.

The Ministry of Interior stated that the search of the suspect’s person yielded seven abortion pills, while a search of his residence in Fintas uncovered an additional 98 pills of the same type, bringing the total seized quantity to 105 pills.

The ministry noted that the suspect confessed during interrogation that he routinely entered Kuwait on a monthly tourist visa, bringing 56 abortion pills from Turkey with each visit for the purpose of distribution and sale within the country, at a total value of 1,040 dinars.
