As part of its early preparations for the NBK Run 2026, National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) organized a special sports event at Al-Shahid Park – Phase 3, in collaboration with a group of specialized fitness trainers. This initiative aims to provide participants with a comprehensive experience ahead of the race, while raising awareness about the importance of physical activity and its role in improving health and promoting healthy lifestyles.
The event sought to create an interactive space encouraging individuals and families to engage in sports and make running a part of their daily routine. Participants had the opportunity to benefit from practical guidance and training sessions designed to help them prepare for the race and enhance their physical fitness levels. The event reflected NBK’s commitment to leveraging its community initiatives to support health and well-being by promoting awareness of the importance of physical activity and encouraging healthy daily practices, thereby contributing to the prevention of various health issues associated with a sedentary lifestyle.
Participants benefited from the expertise of specialized fitness and running trainers, who provided practical advice and professional tips on race preparation and improving physical performance. The trainers also motivated first-time runners to take their initial steps toward adopting this sport. The event featured a range of interactive activities tailored to different age groups and fitness levels. To enrich the attendees’ experience, NBK presented commemorative gifts to all participants, appreciating their engagement and encouraging them to continue adopting positive health habits, in an atmosphere that combined sports, community interaction, and a focus on public health.
The event also included a special sports challenge, offering participants the chance to win cash prizes from NBK, as well as prizes provided by Spark Sports Club and Intersport, adding further excitement and interaction among attendees. This aligns with efforts to enhance participation and encourage individuals to adopt a more active lifestyle. The event saw active participation from Ali Abdulwahab Al-Mutawa Company, which provided special commemorative T-shirts printed with Intersport branding for all participants and attendees, along with distributing healthy beverages from “Joe and the Juice.”
United for Beverages Company also provided beverages to all participants throughout the event, contributing to a comprehensive and comfortable experience for attendees.
Commenting on the occasion, Mohammed Al-Sarraf, Public Relations and Events Management Expert at NBK, said: “The NBK Run is the most prominent and largest sports event of its kind in Kuwait, serving as a platform that brings together thousands of participants annually around the values of health, activity, and balanced living. In line with our commitment to providing the best experience for participants, we organized this event today to allow for early race preparation and to benefit from the guidance of specialized fitness and running trainers within an interactive and motivating atmosphere. This contributes to improving participants’ fitness levels and encourages more individuals to take part in the race and join the next edition with confidence and enthusiasm.”
Al-Sarraf added: “This event creates a sports experience that goes beyond the physical aspect by providing participants with the opportunity to connect, exchange experiences, and learn from others’ journeys, thereby enhancing motivation to achieve personal sports goals. These gatherings foster an atmosphere of positive interaction and mutual encouragement, adding extra value to the participants’ experience and making it more impactful and sustainable.”
Al-Sarraf affirmed that NBK will continue to invest in community initiatives that have a positive and sustainable impact, particularly those related to health and well-being. He noted that sports represent one of the fundamental pillars for building a healthier and more vibrant community, which drives the bank to keep supporting programs and events that encourage physical activity among all age groups, thereby positively reflecting on quality of life and enhancing social cohesion and community engagement.
The NBK Run is held with the support of strategic partners, namely Nissan Al-Babtain, Ooredoo, Ali Abdulwahab Al-Mutawa, Equiti, Spark, Chips, and the United Beverages Company.
