Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, Social Security, and Family Affairs, affirmed that compliance with the ministry’s decisions and circulars is not optional but a mandatory obligation for the boards of directors of all cooperative societies, and that there will be no leniency toward violators.
Al-Huwail stressed the necessity of adhering to decisions on the Kuwaitization of jobs and the placement of national cadres, as well as complying with the regulations and labor systems approved by the Public Authority for Manpower. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness within cooperative societies and central markets, and ensuring the quality, type, and safety of goods to protect consumers’ rights.
She confirmed that any board of directors found to be non-compliant with ministerial circulars, decisions, and applicable requirements will face firm measures, up to dissolution of the board in accordance with the law.
She added that the ministry will continue its supervisory and field monitoring efforts to ensure the implementation of decisions, stressing that the phase of issuing warnings without enforcement has ended, and that accountability will be enforced in practice, without exception or leniency.
