The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has called on imams and preachers to lead the prayer for rain (Istisqa) on the morning of next Saturday in 125 mosques distributed across the country’s various governorates, in observance of the noble Prophetic tradition of seeking rainfall from God Almighty.
In a statement to KUNA, the ministry noted that Acting Deputy Minister Dr. Sulaiman Al-Suwailm issued an administrative directive calling for the prayer to be held at 10:30 a.m. in specific mosques across the governorates.
It added that 125 mosques have been designated in all governorates, as part of efforts to provide citizens and residents with the opportunity to perform the Istisqa prayer and to facilitate their participation by distributing the designated mosques across different residential areas. The ministry indicated that the names of the specific mosques designated for the Istisqa prayer in various governorates will be clarified, enabling worshippers to identify the nearest mosque assigned for the prayer.
