The Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Derrar Al-Ali, said that the country experienced scattered light rain showers since Sunday morning, which will continue in the coming days, with chances increasing next Thursday and occasionally becoming thunderstorms, accompanied by reduced visibility due to fog.
Al-Ali told KUNA that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country will be affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system, coinciding with an upper-level low-pressure system, leading to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds accompanied by scattered light rain showers that may occasionally be thunderous.
He clarified that winds will be variable in direction, shifting to light to moderate southeasterly winds, occasionally strengthening in some areas, noting that the chances of light rain will continue intermittently in the coming days.
He noted that humidity will rise and persist throughout the week, with fog forming at night, especially in coastal and agricultural areas, leading to reduced visibility. The chances of scattered rain will increase next Thursday, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms and increased wind activity.
He urged citizens and residents to follow the weather bulletin via the Department’s official website, its app, and its social media accounts to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
