The Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation, Eng. Saad Al-Otaibi, issued a circular mandating all airlines and travel and tourism agencies operating in Kuwait to clearly and itemize all Kuwait International Airport fees on flight tickets, specifying the amount of each fee separately.

According to Circular No. 58 of 2026, the fees total approximately 10 Kuwaiti dinars, comprising: one dinar for passenger baggage weighing, three dinars for departure fees, two dinars for arrival fees, one dinar for passenger transit fees, two dinars for airport departure tax, 620 fils for the passenger registration system for departing and transferring passengers, 310 fils for transit passengers, and 620 fils for the early inquiry system for border security.

The Authority emphasized in its circular its right to add or modify any fees related to airport services, and stressed that all companies must comply with them. It further stressed that any violation of the circular’s provisions would be referred to the Complaints and Arbitration Committee for adjudication in accordance with legal provisions.

Sources told Al-Anbaa that Kuwait is among the countries with the lowest airport fees.

The sources noted that the fees mentioned in the circular are old, not new.

They added that itemizing them on tickets aims to protect passengers from any additional fees that companies might impose. The source concluded, “Some airlines and travel agencies do not itemize fees on tickets. The circular aims to protect passengers and underscores the necessity for these companies and agencies to adhere to these fees, avoiding exaggeration or unjustified additions.”
