Alaa Khalifa: The Ministry of Education announced the opening of electronic applications for appointment as National Examinations Supervisors for the first academic term of the 2026/2027 academic year, until the 29th of the current month, via the Ministry’s official website. This initiative aims to attract qualified national cadres to contribute to strengthening supervision of the examination process and enhancing compliance with the regulations and guidelines governing it.

The National Supervisor serves as a key component supporting the examination supervision system, playing a vital role in monitoring adherence to established procedures, identifying deficiencies or violations that could disrupt the regularity of exams, and helping to curb misconduct through field monitoring and ensuring the application of controls within examination committees. This reinforces discipline, preserves the principle of equal opportunity for all students, and fosters shared responsibility in safeguarding the integrity of the educational process.

The Ministry of Education specified a set of conditions and criteria for applicants, including: Kuwaiti nationality; a minimum of six years of professional experience, calculated up to September 1 of the current academic year; a “Excellent” efficiency rating for the last three consecutive years; and no active disciplinary sanctions issued against the applicant during the past three years, unless such sanctions have been expunged in accordance with civil service regulations or annulled by a final court judgment. Additionally, applicants must submit a criminal record certificate (“no conviction”) through the government “Sahel” application.

To ensure complete neutrality and prevent any potential conflict of interest, the Ministry stipulated that National Supervisors must not have first-degree relatives (in grades 10, 11, or 12), thereby enhancing the objectivity of supervisory duties and preventing any circumstances that might affect the supervisor’s independence or raise suspicions of unequal opportunity among students during the examination period.

The Ministry clarified that applications are open only to Kuwaiti employees working in educational and supervisory positions within the Ministry of Education. Targeted categories include school principals, assistant school principals, instructional coordinators, subject department heads, and teachers. However, teachers of subjects included in the examination schedules of the committees they are assigned to supervise will not be selected, ensuring separation of responsibilities and reinforcing the requirements of neutrality and objectivity in carrying out supervisory tasks.
