Atletico Madrid Faces Deportivo La Coruna

Atletico Madrid will face Deportivo La Coruña tomorrow, Saturday, in the tenth round of the Spanish football league. Atletico Madrid enters the match in second place with 22 points, while Deportivo La Coruña sits in ninth place with 11 points. Valencia will take on Villarreal in the Valencia regional derby. Both teams enter the match under contrasting circumstances but share a desire to get back on track in La Liga. Villarreal, currently twelfth with nine points, is seeking to regain a winning rhythm after their last match ended in a goalless draw against Elche. Valencia, languishing in nineteenth place (second from bottom) with just six points, sees this fixture as an opportunity for new coach Javier Aguirre to secure his first victory with the team following their recent 0-0 draw against Athletic Bilbao. Also tomorrow, Rayo Vallecano will play Elche, and Racing Santander will face Espanyol. The round opens today, with Deportivo Alaves taking on Malaga. Levante ended a run of disappointing results by securing their first La Liga victory in nearly two months, defeating visitors Athletic Bilbao 3-1 in a match postponed from the sixth round of the competition.
