Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron yesterday on regional and international developments and the coordination of necessary efforts to enhance regional and international security and stability.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the meeting took place when Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received President Macron at the Royal Diwan in Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, as part of a Gulf tour that included Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Qatar.

The agency added that the two sides reviewed the historical and strategic relations between their countries, existing Saudi-French cooperation, and ways to strengthen it across various fields in the interest of both sides’ shared interests.

President Macron and his accompanying delegation arrived in Riyadh earlier yesterday, where they were received by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Emir of the Riyadh Region Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Emir of the Riyadh Region Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayaf, and the French Ambassador to the Kingdom, Patrick Maisonneuve.

The French president’s tour included meetings with Gulf Cooperation Council leaders, while the outcomes of the visit focused on strengthening strategic partnerships and expanding cooperation in defense, security, economic, and investment fields, as well as discussing regional and international developments amid the security and political challenges facing the region.

On another note, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received a written message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi for Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

This came during the Crown Prince’s reception of Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, at the Royal Diwan in Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.

The reception also featured a review of bilateral relations and opportunities to enhance them, as well as discussions on regional developments and coordination of efforts regarding them.
