Kuwait’s Minister of Oil and Chairman of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Tariq Al-Roumi, held separate meetings yesterday with the ambassadors of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Japan accredited to Kuwait, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and consolidating ties of cooperation with friendly nations.

The Ministry of Oil stated in a press release that Minister Al-Roumi discussed with the British Ambassador, Qudsi Rashid, the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and reviewed prospects for developing joint cooperation in areas of mutual interest, reflecting the depth of Kuwaiti-British relations and the mutual commitment to enhancing them.

The ministry noted that Al-Roumi held talks with the French Ambassador, Olivier Gouven, in the presence of the French Cultural Attaché, Bernhard Hieschenberger, on bilateral relations between Kuwait and the French Republic, and ways to enhance joint cooperation and coordination across various fields in the interest of the shared interests of the two friendly countries.

It clarified that the Oil Minister reviewed Kuwaiti-Japanese relations and prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation with the Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kuwait, Kenichiro Mukai, in the presence of Acting Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Oil Tankers Company’s Global Marketing Sector, Sheikh Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

The ministry added that the meetings discussed joint cooperation in economic and energy sectors, in light of the longstanding relations between the two friendly countries, and the importance of continuing coordination and exchanging views on matters of mutual interest.

It emphasized that these meetings come within the framework of Kuwait’s commitment to consolidating its relations with friendly countries and enhancing channels of communication and international cooperation, thereby supporting shared interests and opening broader horizons for bilateral partnerships, particularly in the economic and energy sectors.
