Bouqaaq advanced to the group stage of the Crown Prince Cup after defeating Al-Shamya 1-0 in today’s playoff match held at Abdullah Al-Khalifa Stadium, home of Al-Yarmouk Club.
The only goal of the match was scored by Bouqaaq’s Mokuba Diouf in the 52nd minute, in a game well officiated by referee Youssef Shatab.
Twelve teams will compete in the group stage, divided into three groups. The top three teams from each group, along with the best runner-up, will advance to the quarter-finals. The four teams that finished in the top four positions in last season’s Kuwaiti Premier League—Kuwait, Al-Arabi, Al-Qadsia, and Kazma—have already secured their places in the quarter-finals.
