Our ambassador to Algeria, Nawaf Boushbeeh, held talks with the Minister of State and Grand Imam of the Great Mosque of Algiers, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Qasmi, on ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the religious field and the necessity of coordination to facilitate exchanges of visits and expertise.
The Kuwaiti Embassy in Algeria stated in a press release that Ambassador Boushbeeh praised, during his meeting with Sheikh Al-Qasmi, the status of the Great Mosque of Algiers and its religious and cultural role.
The statement clarified that the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the religious sector and to deepen ties between institutions affiliated with the mosque—most notably the Center for Research in Religious Sciences, the Center for Dialogue among Civilizations, and the National Higher School of Islamic Sciences (Dar Al-Quran)—and Islamic bodies in the State of Kuwait.
It noted that both sides expressed their aspiration to exchange official visits and coordinate consultations in areas of mutual interest, while commending the role of the Great Mosque of Algiers as a beacon for promoting values of moderation and centrism and combating extremist and hateful rhetoric.
They also commended the mosque’s supervisors and their efforts to safeguard the teachings and noble values of Islam.
