Minister of Social Affairs: Approval of 'Women's Platform' to Support Empowerment and Participation in Development

Kuwait’s Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, and Social Development, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, announced the approval of the “Women’s Platform” project, submitted by Microsoft, by the Women’s Affairs Committee, with the aim of supporting women’s empowerment and enhancing their active participation in development.

In a press statement after chairing the committee’s fourth meeting, Al-Huwail said the meeting reviewed the latest updates on the World Bank’s “Women, Business and the Law” index, alongside discussing several key agenda items. She added that the meeting reviewed the work of the “Platform and Initiatives Team” and the “Legislation and Indicators Team,” and followed up on progress made regarding recommendations and decisions issued at the committee’s third meeting.

Al-Huwail emphasized the committee’s commitment to intensifying efforts and coordinating the work of all relevant stakeholders to ensure the implementation of initiatives that contribute to elevating the status of Kuwaiti women and achieving national objectives.
