The Yemeni legitimate government has called on the UN Security Council to condemn the Houthi targeting of government facilities and residential neighborhoods and to hold them accountable. This comes as the Yemeni Armed Forces announced yesterday that they carried out 1,326 precise strikes against gatherings of the Iran-backed Houthi militia, their vehicles, fortifications, and firing positions, within the framework of Operation “Yemen’s Dawn” over a 24-hour period.

Spokesman for the Armed Forces, Colonel Majid Al-Nazili, stated in a press release: “Our armed forces have expanded the scope of their offensive operations under Operation ‘Yemen’s Dawn.’ Preliminary assessments indicate the neutralization of approximately 370 militia members, and the destruction or damage of dozens of military vehicles and equipment.”

Al-Nazili clarified, in a statement relayed by the official news agency, that the Armed Forces on the Marib front leveraged the results of preparatory bombardment and intensified their attacks against designated targets. Meanwhile, combat aircraft and drones continued to support advancing axes along the front by striking militia movements, reinforcements, and firing positions, thereby clearing the way for assault units.

He noted that field advances, coupled with coordinated operational pressure on the southern and western fronts, have constrained the militia’s ability to maneuver and transfer reserves, preventing them from reorganizing their combat formations across axes.

In Taiz, Al-Nazili announced that the Armed Forces, backed by popular resistance, seized several positions and recovered heavy weapons and military equipment, coinciding with strikes against militia reinforcements and the dismantling of their defensive positions. The official spokesperson emphasized that all strikes were directed exclusively at legitimate military targets, following verification and the implementation of necessary precautions to protect civilians and civilian property.

In a related development, Al Arabiya channel quoted a Yemeni military source yesterday stating that “government forces, with support from popular resistance, succeeded in taking control of the Sanamat area and expelling Houthi militants from it.” The source added that forces continue to advance on the Sabr front in southern Taiz. The Sanamat area holds strategic military importance due to its elevated position and oversight of multiple areas on the southern front of Taiz Governorate, making its control tactically significant.

This comes amid Houthi militia movements to establish military fortifications, dig tunnels, and excavate trenches in the Uqqaqa area south of Hodeidah. Al Arabiya reported that military sources indicated the militia is digging tunnels and trenches in Uqqaqa, constructing military fortifications and missile storage sites, while preparing a command, control, and communications center, amid heightened security measures around their military positions.

According to sources, the Houthis have used the Uqqaqa area to launch missiles toward Saudi Arabia, as well as toward Al Mokha and the Bab al-Mandab vicinity, with reports of foreign experts observed in the area.

These developments occur as several Yemeni fronts continue to witness ongoing clashes, coinciding with the 14th day of Operation “Yemen’s Dawn,” part of military movements aimed at reclaiming areas under Houthi control and reestablishing state authority there.
