Kuwait officials: Al-Qadsiya’s first football team continues preparations for tomorrow’s match against Tajik side Regar-Tadaz in the second round of Group 3 of the AFC Challenge League, with the game serving as a decisive encounter that could secure a place in the quarter-finals should they win.
The Yellow side topped their group after a well-deserved 3-0 victory over Bangladesh’s Fortis, with goals from Hamza Khaba, Ayoub El Khadiri, and Abdullah Mutawa. Meanwhile, Regar defeated India’s Goa 2-1.
Al-Qadsiya coach Mohamed Ibrahim said after the match that the game was tough, compounded by humid weather conditions that affected everyone. He noted that the players were heroes in the opening match through convincing performances and a positive result.
He added: “Everyone delivered an outstanding performance, even the substitutes who made a significant impact and will play a key role in upcoming fixtures. Moroccan player Ayoub El Khadiri suffered a minor health issue, which forced us to bring him on in the second half, but once he entered the pitch, he transformed the team’s dynamics alongside Badr Al-Mutawa, Abdullah Mutawa, and Talal Fadel. I have great confidence in the players, and we face a crucial match tomorrow against Tajikistan’s Regar.”
