Lavrov Affirms Close Partnership with Gulf States: Solutions Addressing Root Causes of Regional Crises Must Be Found

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized the necessity of maintaining close partnership with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

This came during a press conference at the conclusion of the ninth joint ministerial meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the GCC and the Russian Federation, held in the Bahraini capital, Manama.

He said, “We welcome the efforts of regional mediators who are striving to prevent the region from sliding into further escalation, calling for ‘the adoption of solutions that address the root causes of the region’s crises,’ and for a ‘return to the Islamabad Memorandum.’”
