Kuwait officials: Al-Qadsiah secured victory in their Asian Challenge League debut, defeating Bangladesh’s Fortis 3-0 in Group C, which is being played in a centralized format at the Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium. With this win, Al-Qadsiah topped their group on goal difference ahead of Tajikistan’s Regar-Tadaz, who beat India’s Goa 2-1.
In the first half, Al-Qadsiah sought an early lead by pressing Fortis’s goal. Moath Al-Zafiri won a penalty, which Hamza Khaba converted successfully in the 20th minute. The Yellow team looked to add a second goal, but dangerous attempts from Nasser Al-Rouaihi and Khaba were thwarted by Fortis goalkeeper Pereira Sugan.
The second half saw Al-Qadsiah miss several clear chances through Khaba, Al-Rouaihi, and Eid Al-Rashidi, while Fortis players showed significant decline. Although Fortis attempted several counterattacks, they posed little threat to Al-Qadsiah goalkeeper Hamid Al-Qallaf. Substitute Ayoub Lakhdar scored Al-Qadsiah’s second goal in the 71st minute after a skillful dribble inside the penalty area, firing a powerful shot past Sugan. Abdullah Mutaaw added the third goal in the 90th minute with a strong strike from inside the box.
