Sisi: We will not stand idly by if Saudi security is threatened

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s firm stance and its full support for protecting its brothers in the Gulf states, emphasizing that Egypt is not seeking a role but is acting out of its responsibility toward its brothers.

President el-Sisi, speaking at a ceremony for the graduation of cohorts from the Egyptian Military Academy, stated that Egypt cannot stand by as an onlooker while the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is threatened. He added that, in accordance with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Egypt will carry out any measures aimed at protecting and defending the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In his address, President el-Sisi requested an emergency session of the House of Representatives to obtain authorization for any intervention requested by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect and defend it.
