Cairo – Khadija Hamouda: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation with Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, participated in the Egyptian-Thai Business Forum, organized by the Thai Federation of Industries in collaboration with the Thai-Egyptian Business Council in Bangkok, with the participation of company representatives and business circles, as part of his visit to Thailand and the convening of the third session of the Joint Ministerial Committee.
In his speech at the forum, the minister emphasized that strengthening economic partnership between Egypt and Thailand represents an important priority in bilateral relations, underscoring the Egyptian government’s commitment to opening new horizons for trade and investment and facilitating the establishment of partnerships between Egyptian and Thai private sector companies.
The minister also outlined Egypt’s attributes as an investment destination and a hub for production and export, foremost among which are the size of the domestic market, infrastructure development, strategic location, and opportunities available in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, in addition to free trade agreements that provide preferential access to regional markets, including the African Continental Free Trade Area. He called on Thai companies to explore cooperation opportunities in manufacturing, food industries, textiles, rubber, processing industries, tourism, and logistics.
On the sidelines of the forum, the minister met with Ms. Pimjai Lee Isaranukul, President of the Thai Federation of Industries, where they discussed ways to enhance industrial cooperation and expand joint investments, intensify communication between the Thai Federation of Industries and the Egyptian Federation for Industries, and exchange business delegations and participate in specialized exhibitions.
The minister stressed the importance of building on the outcomes of the Joint Ministerial Committee and the forum’s discussions to translate proposed opportunities into concrete projects that deliver mutual benefits for both sides.
