The official spokesperson for the “Alliance for the Restoration of Legitimacy” in Yemen, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, confirmed the continuation of the Alliance’s operations to deter the military capabilities of the Houthi militias and the threats to navigation in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea, announcing the interception and destruction of a cruise missile over the city of Medina yesterday.
This statement came during a press conference held by the official spokesperson regarding the terrorist attack on King Khalid International Airport and the specialized operation carried out by the Alliance to neutralize vital capabilities used by the terrorist militia to support its attacks.
He stated that the Joint Forces Command of the Alliance executed a specialized operation in Sana’a in response to Houthi attacks. The official spokesperson revealed that the terrorist militias attempted to target dozens of airports, oil facilities, and ports in the Kingdom. He noted that the militia carried out approximately 20 attacks on King Khalid International Airport alone since October 1, resulting in 17 deaths and 333 injuries between October 7 and 11.
He added that the Houthis targeted Saudi Arabia with a total of 1,104 missiles and 1,135 drones launched against the Kingdom since the commencement of operations.
Al-Maliki stressed that these attacks are an extension of a systematic hostile policy targeting the holiest sites in Islam: Mecca, the sanctuary of revelation and the land of the message, and the resting place of the hearts of millions of Muslims worldwide; and Medina, the city of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
He said: “The terrorist Houthi militia has worked to acquire advanced technologies with the assistance of regional parties, becoming the first terrorist group to possess ballistic missiles, attack and suicide drones, and fast explosive boats, posing a serious threat to regional and international security systems.”
Meanwhile, the Yemeni Ministry of Information announced that Prime Minister Dr. Shuaib Al-Zindani and government members are safe, following a missile strike by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia on the Maashiq Palace in the temporary capital, Aden. The government stated in a bulletin that the attack resulted in the deaths of several bodyguards.
The militias acquired advanced technologies with the assistance of regional parties, becoming the first group to possess ballistic missiles and suicide drones.
“The Alliance”: We destroyed 127 storage facilities in mountainous areas, and our operations continue to deter Houthi capabilities and threats to navigation in Bab al-Mandab and the Red Sea.
The official spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, affirmed that targeting civilian airports, in particular, not only jeopardizes the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia but also threatens the safety of international civil aviation and endangers the lives of passengers of various nationalities. This places the international community under its responsibilities to confront these cross-border threats. He emphasized the Coalition’s continued operations to deter the military capabilities of the Houthi militias and their threats to navigation in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea.
This statement was made during a press conference held by the Coalition’s official spokesperson regarding the terrorist attack on King Khalid International Airport and the precise operation carried out by the Coalition to neutralize vital capabilities used by the terrorist Houthi militia to support its war effort. He noted that the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition executed a targeted operation in response to terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport, other airports, ports, oil facilities, and commercial ships in the Red Sea.
The press conference included footage showing the terrorist Houthi militia’s targeting of King Khalid International Airport. Brigadier General Al-Maliki stated that these brazen terrorist attacks, including the brazen assault that occurred during peak hours at King Khalid International Airport, do not merely target the Kingdom’s airports; they extend to targeting the safety of passengers, including citizens, brothers, friends, and pilgrims to the Two Holy Mosques from all corners of the world.
The spokesperson revealed that Houthi terrorist militias had attempted to target dozens of airports, oil facilities, and ports in the Kingdom, and that they had carried out approximately 20 attacks on King Khalid International Airport since October 1.
Separating the results of the attacks on the airport, he noted that 17 people were killed and 333 injured as a result of Houthi militia strikes on King Khalid Airport between October 7 and 11. He stated that the most severe attack on King Khalid Airport involved 10 drones, missiles, and other projectiles. He revealed that the Houthis had targeted Saudi Arabia with a total of 1,104 missiles and 1,135 drones launched against the Kingdom since the commencement of operations.
Al-Maliki emphasized that these attacks were not “an isolated incident detached from a series of hostile threats and attacks carried out by the terrorist Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” but rather an extension of a systematic hostile approach targeting the holiest sites in Islam: Mecca, the destination of revelation and the land of the message, and the focal point of the hearts of millions of Muslims worldwide; and the Prophet’s city, Medina. These attacks aimed at pilgrims and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques, and can only be described as heinous and treacherous acts.
He considered that targeting civilian airports, in particular, not only affects the security of the Kingdom but also threatens the safety of international civil aviation and endangers the lives of travelers of various nationalities, thereby placing the international community under its responsibilities to confront these cross-border threats.
The official spokesperson for the coalition forces stated that the terrorist Houthi militias have worked to acquire advanced technologies with the assistance of regional actors, becoming the first terrorist group to possess ballistic missiles, attack and suicide drones, and rigged fast boats. This places the international community under the responsibility to prevent terrorist groups from obtaining advanced technologies and weapons, given the serious threat they pose to regional and international security systems.
He confirmed that the Houthi militia has worked to “build mountainous storage facilities concentrated in Sana’a, Saada, and Amran, from which attacks and terrorist operations against Yemen and neighboring countries are launched.” He added that the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition is working to dismantle this network and eliminate the experts and operators of these capabilities by destroying the mountainous storage sites, as well as fixed and mobile launch platforms, through an intelligence system operating around the clock.
Al-Maliki revealed that the Saudi Armed Forces have acquired “high-readiness combat systems with advanced capabilities, and possess a highly efficient air defense system capable of intercepting threats and thwarting targeting attempts to protect the sovereignty, security, assets, sanctities, citizens, and residents of the Kingdom.”
He announced that “in the past few days, we destroyed a total of 127 storage facilities in mountainous areas, as well as numerous launch platforms. We targeted power stations, storage facilities, and piers supporting the war effort of the Houthi militia.”
Al-Maliki stated, “The Houthis must immediately cease all terrorist operations targeting civilians and civilian objects, including airports, ports, oil facilities, and infrastructure.” He reaffirmed the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition’s strict adherence to international humanitarian law and noted that all possible precautions have been taken to avoid causing incidental casualties or damage to civilians during the planning and execution of these operations.
The spokesperson pointed out that “in recent years, coalition forces have targeted Houthi capabilities and elements through military operations while preserving the assets of the brotherly Yemeni people and sparing civilians and civilian objects from collateral damage.”
Al-Maliki had previously announced the interception and destruction of a drone in the city of Khamis Mushait, and the destruction of a cruise missile in the Medina region. Hours earlier, the Coalition had announced the interception and destruction of a drone in the Eastern Region.
