The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budawi, announced the rescheduling of the GCC-Europe Summit, originally set to take place in Riyadh on October 24, to a later date to be mutually agreed upon by the GCC and European sides. This decision was made due to the continued attempts by the Houthi terrorist militia to target Saudi Arabia and its civilian infrastructure, which threatens the security and safety of innocent civilians, as well as the extension of the suspension of operational activities at King Khalid International Airport, in order to ensure the safety of participating delegations.
The Secretary-General reaffirmed the GCC’s and the European Union’s resolve to work toward creating suitable conditions for holding the summit, in line with their long-term objectives of enhancing and consolidating cooperation across various fields between the member states of both organizations, thereby promoting growth and prosperity for their countries and peoples.
