Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif affirmed that all capabilities of the Ministry of Interior are being mobilized to ensure the success of hosting the Saudi Super Cup football matches and to provide the necessary facilitations for fans, participants, and visitors arriving in Kuwait.
Speaking to KUNA after attending the signing ceremony for the government partner sponsorship agreement for the Saudi Super Cup at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif stated that “hosting the tournament reflects the confidence of the Saudi leadership and officials in the Kingdom in Kuwait’s ability to organize this sporting event, and embodies the depth of fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries. This message sent by the Kingdom to Kuwait has no stronger equivalent.”
Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif welcomed his brothers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to their second home, Kuwait, as well as all fans from various countries, emphasizing that “the enduring fraternal bonds shared by the two countries lend special significance to this hosting,” and that Kuwait is keen to provide everything necessary to ensure its success. He affirmed that the safety of fans and participants is a priority at all stages of preparation and organization, stressing the need for integration between security and service plans, clarity of responsibilities, and precision in implementation to guarantee the smooth conduct of matches and efficient handling of various circumstances.
Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif reaffirmed Kuwait’s unwavering support, “heart and soul,” for the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to protect its security, stability, and sovereignty. He stressed that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Kuwait’s security and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. He added, “The martyrs and the wounded over the past four or five days are like our own martyrs and wounded, whether in Kuwait or in any other Gulf country.” He anticipated that the Al-Nuwaybisah center would receive the largest number of fans, noting in the same breath that the number of cabins there has been doubled.
He further stated that regarding the airport during the tournament period, Terminal 1 (T1) is expected to begin operations in November. Additional flights for civil aviation arriving from Saudi Arabia will be prepared. He pointed out that special procedures will be implemented for players and officials, who will not be subjected to biometric fingerprinting; instead, a specific type of identification will be issued to them for entry and exit.
