Launch of Standard Procedures Guide to Strengthen Oversight on Deployment of Egyptian Labor Abroad and Protect Their Rights

Cairo – Ahmed Sabri: Minister of Labor Hassan Radad stated that the launch of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual for Overseas Employment represents a significant step toward developing the system for deploying Egyptian labor to foreign markets, facilitating their transfer, enhancing their protection and care, and safeguarding their rights, in line with legislative developments and the needs of international labor markets. This initiative is implemented in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi regarding the protection and care of Egyptian citizens both domestically and abroad, the provision of decent work opportunities, and the opening of new horizons for Egyptian cadres in various countries.

The Minister of Labor explained, during a speech delivered at the launch event of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual for Overseas Employment, held in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) under the project “Toward a Comprehensive Approach to the Governance of Labor Migration and Worker Mobility in North Africa,” that this manual is the result of an extended effort to review, document, and standardize procedures. This contributes to facilitating the transfer of Egyptian labor abroad, improving the efficiency of services provided to them, and ensuring their compliance with national legislation and international labor standards.
