In line with its ongoing commitment to supporting and empowering Kuwaiti youth across all aspects of their lives, Weyay Bank, in collaboration with the mental health services platform Huna and in partnership with the American University of Kuwait (AUK), launched an awareness initiative aimed at enhancing awareness of the importance of mental health among students and providing a safe space for dialogue and support on campus.
This initiative underscores Weyay Bank’s role as a genuine and close partner to youth, whose presence extends beyond offering innovative digital banking services to include psychological and social support, as well as an understanding of the daily and academic challenges and pressures students face during their educational journey. The initiative emphasizes the concept that caring for one’s mental health and seeking support when needed are positive and courageous steps that reflect self-awareness and responsibility.
This event also exemplifies a successful model of collaboration among the private sector, specialized institutions, and academia. The cooperation between Weyay Bank, Huna platform, and the American University of Kuwait brings together shared visions aimed at building a more aware, supportive, and inclusive university environment for students.
The initiative included a number of interactive activities specifically designed to engage students in innovative ways. A key feature was an interactive awareness campaign that allowed students to select a psychological topic or challenge they were experiencing, in return receiving a tailored guidance message aligned with their needs and personal experiences.
The event also featured other activities aimed at spreading positive and motivational messages that highlight the importance of self-care and reinforce concepts of optimism and psychological resilience among youth. A specialized team from the Huna platform was present at the event to provide direct guidance and counseling to students, answer their questions regarding mental health, and highlight available resources and services that can be utilized when support is needed.
Commenting on the event, Fahad Al-Sharah, Communications Director at Weyay Bank, said, “We believe that our role as a partner to youth extends beyond banking services to include supporting them in all aspects of their lives. From this perspective, our partnership with Huna platform and the American University of Kuwait aims to launch an initiative that places mental health at the center of attention and reassures students that discussing psychological challenges and seeking help is normal and healthy. We hope this initiative will contribute to fostering more open dialogues and strengthening a culture of support and understanding within the university community, positively impacting youth.”
This initiative falls within Weyay Bank’s ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts, which focus on understanding the real needs of youth and accompanying them through various life stages through targeted programs and initiatives that enhance their quality of life and contribute to their empowerment and the realization of their aspirations.
