Salmiya and Kazma Face Arqan and Salibikhaat in Handball

Four matches are scheduled today as part of the 16th round of the Kuwaiti Handball Premier League (resuming last season’s campaign). The matches will be held at the Handball Federation Hall in Ad-Daiya, where Al-Kuwait, leading the table with 27 points, will face fifth-placed Al-Qadsia (14 points) at 5:00 PM, followed by the clash between sixth-placed Al-Salmiya (10 points) and runners-up Burqan (18 points) at 6:30 PM. Meanwhile, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Hall in Sabah Al-Salem will host two matches: fourth-placed Al-Arabi (16 points) against last-placed Al-Nasr (2 points) at 5:00 PM, and third-placed Kazma (16 points) against second-from-bottom Salibikhaet (9 points) at 6:30 PM.

Al-Arabi has a chance to move up the standings and close the gap with the top teams. On the other hand, Al-Nasr is seeking a positive result, as its chances of competing have significantly diminished, unless it collects all its remaining points, which would bring its total to 12 points—still only enough to keep it away from the bottom of the table.

In the Kazma versus Salibikhaet match, the orange-clad Kazma side has an opportunity to challenge for second place from Burqan, while Salibikhaet aims to strengthen its position and move up to the middle of the table.

Meanwhile, both Al-Qadsia and Al-Salmiya continue their absence from the competition, having missed the previous two rounds and thus losing both matches by a 0-10 forfeit score. They are likely to withdraw again today.

On another note, Al-Sahel secured its first victory in the resumed 15th round of the First Division from last season, defeating Al-Fahaheel 35-31, thereby earning its first two points. Al-Fahaheel remains on its previous total of 7 points.
