The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, one of the centers under the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has announced the opening of registration for the National Qualifying Examination for the 2027 International Mathematical Olympiad.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Tuesday, the Center said the program aims to identify outstanding Kuwaiti students in mathematics and prepare them to compete and represent the country at the 68th International Mathematical Olympiad, scheduled to be held in Budapest, Hungary, from July 16 to 26, 2027.

The program targets Kuwaiti male and female students in grades nine, ten, and eleven in both public and private schools who possess a passion for mathematics, along with the ability to think logically and engage in creative analysis, as well as proficiency in spoken and written English.

Registration for the National Qualifying Examination for the 2027 International Mathematical Olympiad opens today via the Center’s official website, with dates and details regarding the program’s stages to be announced later.

The Center noted that the program is part of its efforts to support gifted students, develop their scientific capabilities, and provide them with the opportunity to participate in one of the most prominent international competitions in mathematics for high school students.

The program focuses on developing advanced mathematical skills, enhancing logical and analytical thinking, and fostering innovation and problem-solving abilities in complex mathematical areas such as algebra, geometry, number theory, and combinatorics.

The Center offers incentive awards for participating and outstanding students, including financial rewards for medalists (gold, silver, and bronze) and those receiving certificates of honorable mention at the Olympiad, as well as awards for students who achieve exceptional levels in training tests and attend training sessions according to specified standards.

The Center emphasized the importance of gifted students’ participation in this program, highlighting it as a unique opportunity to refine their scientific abilities, strengthen the presence of Kuwaiti talent on international platforms, and prepare a generation capable of competing and excelling in the fields of science and mathematics.

The Center invited eligible students to register through the official website: www.sacgc.org
