Head of General Fire Force: Kuwait Continues to Enhance Local, Regional, and International Efforts to Mitigate Disaster and Crisis Risks

The Chief of the General Fire Force confirmed that, under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, may God protect and safeguard him, the State of Kuwait places great emphasis on strengthening its disaster risk management system and raising readiness and preparedness levels, thereby ensuring the protection of lives and property and preserving the nation’s resources and security.

In a statement published by the Force on its “X” platform, the Chief of the General Fire Force noted that Kuwait continues its efforts at the local level to develop its preventive and operational capacities and to enhance coordination and integration among relevant authorities. Regionally and internationally, the country is keen on consolidating cooperation and exchanging expertise with sister and friendly countries, particularly those of the Gulf Cooperation Council, to bolster joint readiness in confronting crises and disasters.

He added that Kuwait continues its international humanitarian role by supporting countries and peoples affected by disasters and backing international efforts to mitigate their risks, in line with the objectives of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030.

He stressed that disaster response is no longer limited to reacting after events occur; rather, it now focuses on anticipating risks and strengthening prevention and preparedness. He affirmed that the General Fire Force will continue to develop its human and technical capabilities, leverage modern technologies, and strengthen national and international partnerships, aiming to establish an integrated system that achieves the highest levels of safety and security for society.
